The staff via whatsapp was friendly and responsive to accommodate last min change request to my appointment. The place was clean and comfortable and the lady doctor was helpful to suggest what’s good for me based on my needs. I find the procedures reasonably priced as there were some promotional offers. I managed to get there by 5.30pm for a last consultation and finished my treatments by 7:30pm (clinic closes at 7pm) yet besides the lady doctor who performed the procedures, the lady assistant who helped to clean and prep my face and the male interpreter who stayed with her to explain in English to me step by step what she’s doing— were patient and thorough, I didn’t feel rushed at all. I feel very pampered. I’ll certainly come back again the next time I’m in Seoul!

Dami Skin Clinic — Your Doctor Performs Your Treatment
At Dami Skin Clinic, the doctor who assesses your skin is the doctor who performs your treatment. If you are used to med spas at home, this guide explains what that means, why it matters, and what to ask any clinic before you book.
THE SHORT ANSWER At Dami, the person who looks at your skin, sets your energy and shots, and performs your treatment is the same doctor. Diagnosis and treatment are not split between different people. English-fluent coordinators and interpretation support help you communicate throughout your visit — they help you talk, and the doctor treats.
Why it matters who holds the device
The person holding the device decides how much energy goes in, how many shots are delivered and where each one lands. Because skin thickness and the direction of sagging differ from face to face, those settings are not one-size-fits-all.
At Dami, those choices come from the same doctor's assessment. The doctor looks at your skin thickness and the direction your skin is sagging, customizes the shots and energy from that — for example with XERF, our radiofrequency lifting treatment — and then performs the treatment. There is no hand-off between the person who assessed you and the person who treats you.
That also answers a common worry for visitors: the doctor you talk to at consultation is the doctor who treats you.
How the rules differ: Korea, the US and the UK
Who may legally perform cosmetic laser and injectable treatments differs from country to country, so what you know from home may not match what you find in Seoul. Here is a neutral overview.
| Where | Who may perform these treatments | What the rules say |
|---|---|---|
| Korea | Licensed medical clinics | Under the Medical Service Act, unlicensed medical practice is prohibited. Cosmetic laser and injectable procedures are performed in licensed medical clinics, not beauty salons. |
| United States | Varies by state and procedure | In California, physicians and appropriately supervised RNs and PAs may perform laser treatments; estheticians may not (California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology). Some states certify non-physician laser technicians who work under medical oversight. |
| United Kingdom | Changing | Botox and fillers have been offered by non-medical practitioners. The government has moved to create a licensing scheme that would make it an offence to perform these injectable treatments without a licence (GOV.UK). |
Each system has its own logic, and none of this is a judgment on how another country does things. What it does show is that a licence tells you what kind of place you are in; it does not tell you who will hold the device during your appointment. That is worth asking about anywhere — including in Seoul.
What a visit looks like at Dami
A visit runs in four steps, and the doctor stays with you from the second step to the third.
- Consultation. You talk through your goals with the clinic team. The consultation includes a personalized skin assessment, a review of your custom lifting and skin booster plan, and multilingual coordinator support.
- The doctor's assessment. The doctor assesses your skin, including its thickness and the direction in which it is sagging, to decide how your treatment should be customized.
- The doctor performs your treatment. The doctor who assessed you carries out the treatment directly, setting the energy and the shots from that assessment. English-fluent coordinators and interpretation support are available throughout your visit.
- Aftercare and follow-up. What you do afterwards, and when to check in, depends on the treatment you had. Ask at consultation how follow-up works, especially if you are travelling home afterwards.
Treatment is designed around your individual facial structure, drawing on more than 20 years of clinical dermatology experience.
Who does what: doctor and coordinators
Coordinators help you communicate; the doctor treats. Here is how the two roles fit together during your visit.
| Doctor | English-fluent coordinators | |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Assesses your skin and performs your treatment | Support communication and interpretation during your visit |
| Decides | Energy, shots and placement, from the doctor's own assessment | Nothing about your treatment settings |
| Helps you with | Your treatment plan and what to expect | Asking questions, understanding answers, multilingual support |
If you are visiting from abroad, the clinic is in ILEX Tower in Yeouido, near Saetgang Station.
Four questions to ask any clinic before you book
Wherever you are treated, four questions tell you who is responsible for your care. They are fair to ask in any country, and a clear, specific answer is what you are looking for.
| Ask | Why it matters | At Dami |
|---|---|---|
| Who performs my treatment? | It names the person, not just the clinic. | The doctor performs treatments directly. |
| Is it the same doctor who consulted me? | It shows whether assessment and treatment are joined up or handed over. | Yes — the doctor who assesses your skin performs your treatment. |
| Who adjusts the settings? | The person holding the device sets energy, shots and placement. | The treating doctor, from their own assessment of your skin. |
| Who do I contact about side effects? | It matters most if you are travelling home soon after. | Ask at consultation and we will tell you who your contact is. |
Frequently asked questions
Does the doctor perform the treatment at Dami?+
Yes. At Dami Skin Clinic, the doctor performs treatments directly. Assessment and treatment are not split between different people.
Is it the same doctor who consults me?+
The doctor who assesses your skin is the doctor who performs your treatment. If you would like to confirm this for your own plan, ask when you book.
What do the coordinators do?+
Our English-fluent coordinators and interpretation support help you communicate during your visit, from asking questions to understanding the answers. They help you talk; the doctor treats.
Do nurses do any part of the treatment?+
Treatments at Dami are performed directly by the doctor. If you would like to know what each member of the team does during your visit, ask at consultation and we will walk you through it.
Is this different from a med spa at home?+
It can be, depending on where you live and which provider you visit. Rules differ by country and often by state; in some places, lasers and injectables are commonly performed by nurses, PAs or technicians under supervision. In Korea, they are performed in licensed medical clinics. Rather than relying on a label, use the four questions above. At Dami, the answer to "who performs my treatment?" is the doctor.
Can I ask questions in English during treatment?+
Yes. English-fluent coordinators and interpretation support are available throughout your visit, so you can ask questions and understand the answers.

What Our Customers Say
While getting ready for my wedding, I started looking into different skin treatments and ended up getting a skin booster injection along with Pico toning. My skin is naturally very thin and sensitive, so I was worried because it tends to react easily if a treatment doesn't suit me. But they carefully checked my skin condition first during the consultation, which made me feel a lot more comfortable. There was a little redness on the day of the treatment, but once I put on makeup the next day, it was barely noticeable. I was especially happy during my wedding photoshoot because my makeup went on so well My skin just looked healthy and fresh without needing heavy coverage!
