CellREDM: The ECM Skin Booster, Explained

Last updated:

CellREDM is one of the newer names in Korean skin boosters, and it works differently from the boosters most people already know. If you have seen it mentioned and wondered what is actually being injected, this page explains what CellREDM is made of, how it is meant to work, how it compares with Rejuran and Juvelook, and what to ask the doctor before treatment.

The short answer

CellREDM is an injectable skin booster based on ECM (extracellular matrix). It is made from human acellular dermal matrix (hADM): donated human dermis that has been processed to remove its cells while keeping the matrix components. It is designed to supplement ECM components such as collagen and elastin in the skin, to help support skin structure. Whether it suits you is decided by the doctor after examining your skin.

What is ECM?

ECM, or extracellular matrix, is the support network that surrounds the cells in your skin. In the dermis, the layer beneath the surface, it is made mainly of:

  • Collagen, which gives skin its firmness
  • Elastin, which helps skin stretch and spring back
  • GAGs (glycosaminoglycans), which help the skin hold water

Together these components help keep skin firm, elastic and hydrated. CellREDM is built on the idea of supplementing this matrix directly.

What CellREDM is made of

CellREDM is made from human acellular dermal matrix (hADM), a material derived from donated human tissue. "Acellular" means the cells have been removed. The tissue goes through a process called decellularization, which takes out the cells and keeps the matrix components: collagen, elastin and GAGs.

Two panels. On the left, labelled Cells removed, matrix kept, wavy orange collagen lines and straight green elastin lines form a mesh, with dashed circles marking where cells were removed by decellularization; the caption says donated human dermis is processed so the cells are removed and the matrix of collagen, elastin and GAGs remains. An arrow points to the right panel, labelled Matrix placed in the dermis, which shows skin layers with small blue particles in the dermis; the caption says the matrix, injected into the dermis, is designed to supplement collagen and elastin and support skin structure. A note below says the doctor decides at consultation whether CellREDM suits your skin.

Who makes CellREDM

CellREDM is made by Hans Biomed, a Korean medical materials company. Hans Biomed runs a tissue bank and holds accreditation from the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) as a company. In 2026, Hugel signed an agreement with Hans Biomed for domestic sales rights in Korea.

The product line includes CellREDM, CellREDM V and a fine-particle line, CellREDM B, which was developed for thin, delicate areas. Which product is used, and where, is decided by the doctor.

How CellREDM compares with other skin boosters

Skin boosters differ mainly in what they supply to the skin:

Skin boosterMain ingredientWhat it supplies
RejuranPN (polynucleotide) from salmon or trout DNASupports the skin's own repair and hydration
JuvelookNon-crosslinked hyaluronic acid + PDLLAHydration, plus gradual collagen stimulation
CellREDMHuman acellular dermal matrix (ECM)ECM components such as collagen, elastin and GAGs, to support skin structure

ECM products are often used together with hyaluronic acid treatments. Whether a combination suits you, and which products to pair, is decided by the doctor.

For a closer look at the other two, see how Rejuran and Juvelook differ and the different Rejuran types.

Who CellREDM may be considered for

CellREDM may be considered when skin shows concerns such as:

  • Skin that has lost density and feels thinner
  • Loss of elasticity
  • Dryness, or a skin barrier that needs support

These are general descriptions, not a checklist. The doctor examines your skin thickness and condition before deciding whether CellREDM, another skin booster or a different treatment fits your skin.

If dryness is your main concern this season, see which treatments fit winter dry skin.

What the treatment is like

Like other skin boosters, CellREDM is injected into the dermis. Afterward, temporary swelling, small bumps or redness may appear at the injection points.

Treatment time, the numbing method, downtime and how many sessions you may need vary with your skin and the plan, so ask the doctor for the details that apply to you. If you are visiting Seoul, leave enough time between treatment and any events or your flight.

See when to book treatment before your flight home.

Tell the doctor first

Let the doctor know before treatment if any of these apply to you:

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Taking blood thinners, or a tendency to bleed or bruise easily
  • Inflammation or infection in the treatment area
  • Recovering from recent injections or laser treatment

FAQ

What is CellREDM?+

CellREDM is an ECM-based injectable skin booster made from human acellular dermal matrix. It is designed to supplement ECM components such as collagen and elastin to help support skin structure.

What is CellREDM made of?+

It is made from human acellular dermal matrix (hADM): donated human dermis with the cells removed. What remains are matrix components including collagen, elastin and GAGs.

Is CellREDM safe if it comes from human tissue?+

The tissue goes through decellularization, which removes the cells, and the manufacturer, Hans Biomed, runs an AATB-accredited tissue bank. As with any injection, side effects can occur, so the doctor reviews your skin and medical history and explains the risks before treatment.

How is CellREDM different from Rejuran?+

Rejuran is based on PN from salmon or trout DNA and supports the skin's own repair and hydration. CellREDM is based on human dermal matrix and supplies ECM components such as collagen and elastin to support skin structure.

Can CellREDM be combined with other treatments?+

ECM products are often used together with hyaluronic acid treatments. The doctor decides whether a combination suits you and how to schedule it.

How many sessions do I need?+

The doctor will recommend a plan after assessing your skin during the consultation.

Is there downtime?+

Temporary swelling, small bumps or redness may appear at the injection points. Ask the doctor what to expect for your skin and plan, especially if you have events or a flight coming up.

I had a great experience at this clinic! I came in for a Pico Laser treatment and a treatment to remove my freckles, and I also got Botox in two areas of my face. They gave me a discount, which was a really nice bonus. Everyone was incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming. One of the things I appreciated the most is that everyone speaks English, including the doctors, so I was able to fully understand the consultation, the treatments, and the recommendations without any language barrier. I highly recommend this clinic, especially for foreigners who don’t speak Korean but still want to have a treatment where they can communicate comfortably and understand everything clearly. I felt very well taken care of throughout the whole experience. I would definitely come back! ❤️

The staff via whatsapp was friendly and responsive to accommodate last min change request to my appointment. The place was clean and comfortable and the lady doctor was helpful to suggest what’s good for me based on my needs. I find the procedures reasonably priced as there were some promotional offers. I managed to get there by 5.30pm for a last consultation and finished my treatments by 7:30pm (clinic closes at 7pm) yet besides the lady doctor who performed the procedures, the lady assistant who helped to clean and prep my face and the male interpreter who stayed with her to explain in English to me step by step what she’s doing— were patient and thorough, I didn’t feel rushed at all. I feel very pampered. I’ll certainly come back again the next time I’m in Seoul!

While getting ready for my wedding, I started looking into different skin treatments and ended up getting a skin booster injection along with Pico toning. My skin is naturally very thin and sensitive, so I was worried because it tends to react easily if a treatment doesn't suit me. But they carefully checked my skin condition first during the consultation, which made me feel a lot more comfortable. There was a little redness on the day of the treatment, but once I put on makeup the next day, it was barely noticeable. I was especially happy during my wedding photoshoot because my makeup went on so well My skin just looked healthy and fresh without needing heavy coverage!

The whole process was smooth. I would definitely recommend Dami Clinic to anyone looking for professional skin care with a warm and friendly atmosphere! 🌸
